The purpose of the pinewood psychiatric residential treatment facility is to create the changes in both child and parent behavior via therapeutic intervention that will enable a child to return to life in the family home. T he woods autism rtf is a non secure residential treatment facility providing comprehensive services for up to 28 children and adolescents ages 6 to 21 who present with autistic disorder concomitant with psychiatric emotional developmental and behavioral difficulties. The woods autism rtf is anticipating children who have communication difficulties socialization challenges and who engage in odd or repetitive and or dangerous behaviors. Within an assigned team of 10 to 11 students grouped according to treatment needs gender diagnosis and age children learn to live with others in a family like atmosphere.

Round the clock nursing care is provided. The medical center at woods is a true patient centered medical home that serves as the centralized coordinated center of care for clients. Residential treatment enables youth to build positive relationships with caring staff that is committed to their personal growth and success. Having a medical center right at woods enables us to improve care coordination provide extended service hours to reduce disruptive er visits and increase access to more advanced medical services.

The woods at parkside successfully treats substance abuse and co occurring mental health disorders using a multi faceted approach that takes into consideration the uniqueness of each individual. Northwood offers 24 hour residential treatment at our main campus. Our goal is to provide clients with the foundation necessary to sustain lasting and meaningful recovery. Both programs serve people with intellectual disabilities autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities including many with physical medical emotional and significant behavioral challenges.

Ultimately the only socially valid measure of program success is whether the children return to their homes.
