Then trace the inlay onto the wood remove the inlay and use an x acto knife to cut into the traced lines. Now that the outline is cut down you can remove the center material with a chisel. Remove the collar from the bushing reset the bit height to 3 16 below the bushing and rout the inlays.

I also use a diamond nail file for smoothing edges.
